DanceXchange (dx), in partnership with Birmingham Hippodrome, delivers an International Dance Festival for Birmingham, a major biennial event, with the first to take place in April/May 2008. A month of world class live performance from every corner of the globe. From a shop window to the Hippodrome stage, from ballet to bollywood; whether you want to watch or join in, Birmingham becomes the city that doesn't stand still.

The Festival has a world-class programme that encompasses all styles of dance and expresses the youthful, diverse and energetic spirit of Birmingham and the West Midlands. The Festival plays a significant role in supporting Birmingham’s profile as a major cultural city and international dance destination, coming at a time when there is a new-found confidence in celebrating the city’s arts and culture.

Venues across the city: Birmingham Hippodrome, The Patrick Centre, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Town Hall and IKON Eastside, as well as public spaces in the city centre
