Chinese artist Cao Fei, based in Beijing, China, is an installation artist, photographer and filmmaker
whose works explore themes of identity, urbanism, globalization and in particular digital gaming culture.

In 2005, Cao Fei gained notoriety for a series of photos and videos 'PRD ANTI-HEROES' depicting Guangzhou teens dressed as japanese manga characters. This was followed from 2006 by video works 'i.mirro' based on the process known as 'Machinima' is the practice of creating videos using the video game as the medium. Cao Fei's works in building the virtual world RMB City came to full virtual life in July 2008.
