I am a French citizen. Born in the early seventies in Paris, belonging to the first generation born from West African parents who had come to France to make a living after the independences. In 2007, I was awarded a PhD in English studies at the Sorbonne University in Paris. My thesis looked at the integration of Muslim culture within Britain’s larger cultural landscape.
Since defending my thesis, I have been working with associations in the Paris region and in the UK. Through the organisation and website www.AnOpenEye.org launched in 2008, I have been involved with other writers and bloggers, relating stories and expressing the view point of French ethnic minorities on the social issues affecting social cohesion in France.
